Change Mouse settings with WinMouse
WinMouse is a cool little program that is easy to use and doesn’t go out of its way to give us features we do not need. The user interface is bland, but that shouldn’t be a huge issue because you won’t be looking at it every day. Yes, we do know Windows has its own settings for the mouse, but from our point of view, WinMouse is the better option, especially for those who deep themselves as advanced users. Furthermore, this tool allows for changing the mouse settings much faster than what Microsoft has on offer, so that’s nice. Let’s discuss this in more detail
1] ScreenWrap
OK, so the first thing users will come across is the feature called ScreenWrap. When it is activated, users can move the cursor without it being blocked by borders. So, for example, when the cursor is moved to the bottom of the screen, it will appear at the top. The same goes if it drifts to the left, it appears on the right. A useful feature, but a problem if your taskbar goes hidden automatically because there is no way to use the cursor to make the taskbar reappear again. The good news is, we can make some changes to ScreenWrap with ease. OK, so when it is activated, you can select when to use the feature after pressing a particular button. With this on, ScreenWrap does not work automatically. Interestingly enough, this can be done for both straight and diagonal, so choose which one you want to run automatically or not.
2] Pointer Options
This section comes with a few features we like, but don’t expect to change the design of your pointer. From here, the user can change the speed of the pointer, enable mouse trails, sonar, and automatically snap the pointer to the default button on a dialog box.
3] Wheel
Next, we want to look at the tab that has everything to do with the scroll wheel on your mouse. From here, the user can change settings pertaining to vertical and horizontal scrolling. It’s nothing impressive really, but for those who want to, they can. When it comes down to the mouse buttons, the options offered by ScreenWrap are more than what the Wheel tab brings to the table. You see, the user can make changes to the double-click speed, and also the size of the double-click area. Additionally, folks can switch primary and secondary buttons, which means, the left-click becomes the right-click and vice-versa.
4] Statistics
If you want to know how many times the left-click and right-click buttons have been clicked during a session, the Stats tab is the best place for this data. It also shows the distance traveled by the mouse cursor. For those who feel the need, the option is there to reset the counter for the session and begin from scratch.
